MANILA, Philippines—The government of South Korea is turning over $500,000 worth of relief supplies for the victims of Tropical Storm “Sendong” to the Department of Social Welfare and Development on Thursday.

South Korean Ambassador Lee Hye Min will turn over the donation consisting of 500 sets of tents; 15,000 towels; 3,000 boxes, or 63,000 pieces, of chicken-and-beef fried rice set; and 6,800 water purification tablets to Social Welfare Secretary Corazon Soliman.

“In times like this, we are all united to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters affected by Sendong,” Soliman said in a statement.

The donation, which came from the Korea International Cooperation Agency, will be transported to Cagayan de Oro, one of the cities hardest hit by the storm.
