Sick Chinese crewman rescued by PH Coast Guard in Tawi-Tawi

The Philippine Coast Guard in Tawi-Tawi on Tuesday helped rescue a Chinese crew member suffering a medical emergency at sea.

Chinese crewman Zheng Le was suffering an epilepsy attack while cargo vessel MV China Peace was transiting the waters near Laparan Island in Pangutaran, Sulu, the Coast Guard said in a statement Tuesday.

The ailing crew member was transferred to BRP Malabrigo and brought to Zamboanga City for proper medical attention.

The Chinese vessel proceeded to Australia while the Coast Guard is coordinating with the Chinese embassy “for the proper disposition of the patient.” /je
