Koreans still top PH tourists in 2017
South Koreans remained the Philippines’ top visitor with over a million tourist arrivals in 2017, according to latest data provided by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
The BI said South Koreans registered a total inbound traffic of 1,467,982 tourist arrivals from January to November this year.
South Koreans also dominated the Philippines’ list of biggest tourist markets in 2016 with 1,448,362 foreign nationals visiting the country, according to the BI.
Visitors from the United States came in second with 869,732 tourist arrivals to the country. China followed with 796,487 tourist arrivals, an increase of nearly 200,000 more visitors from last year’s 588,945 arrivals.
The top three visitors were followed by Japan (510,736), Australia (218,719), Taiwan (196,485), Canada (179,522), United Kingdom (177,321), Malaysia (127,232) and Singapore (112,603).
