Australian man found dead in Olongapo hotel
OLONGAPO CITY — A 56-year-old Australian man was found dead from a heart attack inside a hotel room in Barretto village here on Sunday (Jan. 24) evening.
The remains of Melbourne resident Neil Robert Briscoe was discovered lying on the bed in his hotel room in Viking Hotel and Restaurant, said Sen. Insp. Rodel Paragas, police station 6 commander.
Paragas said Briscoe was alone when he checked into the hotel on Jan. 21 along Baloy Long Beach.
Carmen Sagun, the hotel owner, asked the police to check on her guest, who failed to respond to hotel employees.
Police entered his room at 10 p.m. and found his body. They also took note of the fact that Briscoe was taking prescription medicine.
Investigators ruled out foul play, and said the man suffered cardiac arrest following an autopsy.
