Senate Pogo probe: Tony Yang admits he is also ‘Antonio Lim’

MANILA, Philippines — Tony Yang, who is connected with the illegal online gaming facility allegedly owned by dismissed Mayor Alice Guo, admitted during a Senate probe on Tuesday that he also goes by the name Antonio Maestrado Lim.
During the hearing, Yang said that his real name is Yang Jian Xin, but he used the alias “Antonio Lim” on all Philippine government documents.
“In the government documents I only used Antonio Lim and no other name,” Yang said in Mandarin as translated by an interpreter.

Article continues after this advertisementBut Senator Risa Hontiveros pointed out that he used different names on separate documents: he used “Yang Jian Xin” on his Alien Certificate of Registration, “Antonio Maestrado Lim” for a driver’s license, then only “Antonio Lim” for his tax identification number.

“You’re only Filipino when it benefits you,” she added.
Yang explained that he used an English name to start a business in the Philippines and to apply for business permits and other necessary documents.
“Precisely, so for the record, Mr. Yang has confirmed that he is also Antonio Maestrado Lim, aside from Tony Yang, and Yang Jian Xin,” Hontiveros said.
