DFA chief heads for Canada May 6
Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo is set to visit Vancouver, Ottawa, and Toronto from May 6 to May 10 to further boost the Philippines’ bilateral ties with Canada in time for the 75th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday said Manalo was scheduled to deliver a foreign policy address at the Asia Pacific Foundation in Vancouver and hold bilateral meetings with four Canadian Cabinet Ministers of Global Affairs. Manalo’s trip to Canada follows Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly’s visit to the Philippines on May 19, as well as the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation in Ottawa. —JANE BAUTISTA
