DSWD seeks parents, relatives of abandoned children

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the parents and relatives of the two minors.

Luke Francis Rubio was left by his mother Ma. Corazon Rubio of Luray II, Toledo City, Cebu, three days after giving birth on Nov. 18, 2010, at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

A baby boy was found inside a parking multicab along Cabreros Street, barangay Basak San Nicolas Cebu City on Dec. 15, 2010 at 4 a.m. by Nicolas “Landy” Cabillo.

The baby was rushed to St. Anthony Mother and Child Hospital in Basak San Nicolas by the barangay tanods and was named Psalm Anthony Coronado by Rosalie Coronado, the hospital’s chief nurse.

The DSWD-7 is requesting the parents and relatives of these minors to see social workers Suchiella Arong and Annalisa Gubalane at the DSWD office on M.J. Cuenco Avenue, Cebu City with telephone number 2338779.

Failure of the parents and relatives to appear or claim the child within one month will subject the child for legal abandonment.
