Vax in, rabies out: Robinsons Malls kicks off Rabies Awareness Month in QC vet

Rabies is endemic in the entire country and Philippines remains to be one of the highest rabies incidence in the world. As animal welfare advocate and champion for responsible pet ownership, Robinsons Malls Happy Pets Club aims to address this crisis through its Pet Bakuna program.

Rabies Awareness Month

A RESPONSIBLE PET PARENT. Owning a pet is a commitment and part of a furparent’s responsibility to have their pets regularly vaccinated against rabies. These pet parents take advantage of the free ant-rabies vaccination regularly held in all Quezon City Robinsons Malls.

Pet Bakuna, one of the four CSR pillars of Happy Pets Club, is a free anti-rabies vaccination drive which is regularly conducted in various Robinsons Malls. It was even made more easily available to bigger pet communities brought about by the partnership with Quezon City LGU’s Veterinary Department. Now, mass vaccinations are being held in Quezon City malls – Robinsons Novaliches, Robinsons Galleria and Robinsons Magnolia – empowering and engaging communities to do an active role in preventing rabies and being part of the solution.

What’s better is that this Rabies Awareness Month, Robinsons Malls Happy Pets Club and QC Veterinary Department has prepared a kick-off celebration dubbed as Vax In, Rabies Out! on March 7 at Robinsons Novaliches, putting emphasis on the value of strong awareness on the disease by conducting educational talks complemented by free anti-rabies vaccines available to all pets of Quezon City residents. On top of these, there will also be Pet Konsulta, or free vet consultation for pet owners who would like to ensure their furbabies’ health is in tip top shape; and Snip ‘en Snap, free spay and neuter procedures for pets of Quezon City residents- a process that will effectively prevent the overpopulation of strays in the city.

JOURNEY TO RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP. QC LGU and Robinsons Malls team up for pet and animal welfare in the city. The launch, which was held during last year’s Quezon City day, was attended by Quezon City Veterinary Department headed by Dr. Ana Marie Cabel (center), Animal Kingdom Foundation Program Director Atty. Heidi Caguioa (sixth from left), District 5 Action Officer William Bawag (seventh from left), members of Animal Care and Disease Control Division headed by Dr. Rey del Napoles (second from left) and Robinsons Malls team. The adorable rescue dogs or fondly called Quezon City ambassadogs completed the festivities.

Pet owners will be delighted to know that there will be free express grooming to the first 100 pets to come to the event; games, pet bingo, raffle items and prizes that will be given away each hour to ensure that you and your pet’s mall visit is fun and memorable! Activities start at 10 AM while free pet services will be available until 4PM.
