American fugitive Paul John Zambuto deported
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Friday said it had deported an American wanted for trafficking and possession of illegal drugs by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. said Paul John Zambuto, 35, was flown back to the US on board a Philippine Airlines flight to Los Angeles also on Friday, following the issuance of a summary deportation order by the BI board of commissioners.
David, in a statement, said the board also ordered Zambuto’s inclusion in the immigration blacklist for being an undesirable, overstaying and undocumented alien.
The BI fugitive search unit headed by Uso Dan Salasim arrested Zambuto at his unit at the Paseo Parkview condominiums on Valero Street in Salcedo Village, Makati City, on Nov. 17.
Zambuto had been on the wanted list of the FBI since 2007 as a result of arrest warrants issued by courts in Arizona and Florida, Salasim said.
The US Embassy in Manila said an Arizona court had issued a warrant for his arrest for violating the conditions of his probation.
