No Filipinos were hurt when an oil tanker crashed into a passenger bus in Congo, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Monday.

“The Philippine Embassy in Nairobi reported to Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano that none of the estimated 142 Filipinos in the DRC were reported to be among the dead and injured,” the DFA said in a statement.

Philippine Ambassador to Kenya Uriel Norman Garibay said that the collision happened last Saturday on the highway that links the Congo’s capital, Kinshasa, to the country’s only port in Matadi on the Atlantic Ocean.
