Toronto Couples for Christ walk to raise funds for the poor
TORONTO, Ontario – Want to help poor families in the Philippines and Africa, help build homes for the poor? You can start by walking.
The 11th ANCOP Canada walk-for-a-cause day is on Saturday, August 15, starting from David Pecaut Square. Registration is at 8 a.m., and the walk starts at 10.
ANCOP, an ancronym for “Answering the Cry of the Poor,” is an organization founded by Couples for Christ (CFC), a global Catholic community present in over 100 countries.
ANCOP Canada started the very first walk to raise awareness and solicit financial support for the ANCOP Child Sponsorship Program.
To help alleviate the plight of the poor, ANCOP has two major programs. One is child sponsorship, where children from poor families in the Philippines, Nigeria, Kenya and India are provided schooling for elementary, high school and vocational/technical/college courses.
