Fiesta in America’s 17th year: Confident Fil-Ams mean business
NEW JERSEY—Nobody mixes business with pleasure better than Fiesta in America.
In marking its 17th year, Fiesta in America promises to be much bigger and better with its new and exciting lineup of programs and special offers at the expo, food and culture fest on Aug. 15-16 at Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, New Jersey.
Billed “Fil-Ams Mean Business,” the expo showcases the best of Philippine products and services alongside international brands but without neglecting Fiesta in America’s major draw—the crowd-pleasing TFC-sponsored entertainment shows headlined this year by popular singer-actress Vina Morales with “Oh My G!” stars Edgar Allan Guzman and Maxene Magalona.
Day 1 of the event is sure to be welcome news to senior citizens in the tri-state area, as it opens the expo free of charge between noon and 1 p.m. on Aug. 15. A booth will also be set up inside for those who want a free health screen/checkup courtesy of nurse-friends.
Government personalities from New Jersey and the Philippines are also expected to grace the first day of the event, including a surprise guest from Cebu. Names will be announced soon.
What makes Fiesta in America different is that it offers a more business-like setting for exhibitors and attendees to interact with each other. Attendees say they like the unhurried pace the expo provides, as it allows them to make better informed decisions about, say, exhibitors offering the best vacation travel packages in the Philippines, or real estate agents offering the best properties in the Philippines.

The major exhibitors and sponsors this year include a diverse mix of private companies, not-for-profit organizations and government-run organizations like DirectTV, AARP and the Department of Tourism, which has been hugely successful in promoting the Philippines worldwide. Other Asian businesses are also expected to join.
Attendees can expect a lot of giveaways, discounts, autograph-signing sessions and raffles. For exhibitors and sponsors, they will like the organized setup that can promote their products and services better to Filipino-American consumers—the second-highest household income earner at $81,000 a year with a buying power of $120 billion.
