Filipino, 3 Malaysians nabbed for alleged human trafficking
ZAMBOANGA CITY – A Filipino woman and three Malaysians were arrested for alleged human trafficking here on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Supt. Angelito Casimiro, the city police chief, said along with the arrest of the four suspects, 32 female victims, 11 of whom are minors, were rescued.
Police, military and members of the Philippine Center for Transnational Crime, acting on a tip, raided a house on Estrada Drive in Mampang village on Wednesday.
Arrested were Hadja Idang Pacsa and Malaysians Innie Rajik, Mucer Bin Abbas and Mussa Binti Jamiri.
Casimiro said the three Malaysians were using old passports.
“They have no record of departure corresponding to their arrival, which means that they are overstaying,” he said.
Article continues after this advertisementMaria Socorro Rojas, the City Social Welfare Officer, said they were still “assessing” the victims because they claimed they were from Jolo, Sulu, but do not speak Tausug.
