‘It’s Showtime’ comes to Canada

TORONTO, Canada– A summer event of back-to-back live presentations of “It’s Showtime” will be held on September 20 at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto and September 21 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel announced.

The noontime show features Filipino-flavored contests like Kalokalike, Mini Me, I Am Pogay, That’s My Tomboy and PINASikat.

Coming to Canada to entertain the “madlang people” are Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Karylle, Vhong Navarro, Billy Crawford, Kuya Kim Atienza, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta, Jhong Hilario, Ryan Bang, Coleen Garcia and Eric Tai.

What began as a search for the country’s most entertaining acts a few years ago has become a hit variety program for Filipinos in the Philippines and abroad.

“It’s Showtime” keeps churning out popular catchphrases and gimmicks, draws people and barangays or townsfolk together to showcase their talents, and finds thrill and joy in the most mundane situations.

The September 20 show is brought to Toronto in partnership with Great Smile Denture Clinic, while the September 21 show is brought to Edmonton in partnership with 3J Event Services.  TFC and Philippine Airlines are presenting sponsors of both shows in association with Megaworld and Belo Medical Group.
