Manila mission to appease HK

MANILA, Philippines—Manila Councilor Bernie Ang on Wednesday said he would make arrangements for a trip to Hong Kong for talks with representatives of the slain hostages’ relatives.

Ang said Mayor Joseph Estrada had tasked him with exploring other avenues to appease the Hong Kong government.

In a separate interview, Estrada said he would “exhaust all remedies” to restore the good relations between Manila and Hong Kong.—Erika Sauler
