MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is set to open a new satellite office in Quezon City by February 2014.

A memorandum of agreement was signed between Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario and Jorge Araneta, Chairman and President of Araneta Center, Inc., for the opening a satellite office at Ali Mall, Araneta Center, DFA said in a statement Wednesday.

The new satellite office, to be designated as DFA NCR-Northeast, will open sometime February at the Ali Mall Government Center on the second level of the mall.

DFA said that the opening of the new satellite office “is in line with the Department’s objective of decongesting the DFA main passport processing facility at the ASEANA Business Park in Parañaque.”

“[It] will complement the four other DFA satellite offices serving the residents of Metro Manila and nearby cities and municipalities,” it said.

DFA’s other offices are the DFA NCR-East satellite office located at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong city, DFA NCR-Central at Robinsons Galleria, and DFA NCR-West at SM City Manila.
