Abducted Asian girl found in California

MANILA, Philippines—A seven-year-old girl, reportedly of Filipino ancestry, was abducted Friday by a man who suspectedly followed her trail from a grocery store in California but was found safe on the same day.

California police said the victim, Natalie Calvo, and her mother were allegedly tailed by the suspect from Walmart in Antioch City to their residence along 3800 Block of Hummingbird Drive.

At 6:45 p.m. Friday (California time), Calvo was kidnapped by a still unidentified Asian man, about 40 to 50 years old, who the police said was armed with a long black gun.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the suspect was last seen speeding away from the victim’s house in a 1990’s Gold Toyota Camry.

Calvo, described as an Asian by the CHP, was last seen wearing a neon pink scarf and jaket, gray leggings and brown boots. The United States police said she is approximately three-feet tall, weighs 54 pounds and has black hair.

But later that day, Calvo was found by the police when an unidentified witness at the Antioch Marina Plaza along the San Francisco Bay Area spotted the vehicle of the suspect.

Reports in California said the suspect is now in the custody of the police.
