MANILA, Philippines — New US Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg paid a courtesy call to Senate President Franklin Drilon on Thursday.
Goldberg, in a press conference, said he and Drilon had a chance to discuss a wide range of issues, including the relief efforts for Supertyphoon “Yolanda” victims.
“We had a very friendly discussion. I’m very happy to be here in the Senate and I’m very happy to be here in the Philippines,” said the US envoy.
Goldberg again expressed his condolences to those who have lost their families in the tragedy.
For his part, Drilon thanked the US envoy for his country’s quick assistance to the typhoon victims.
