THE Cebu City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) is set to implement the tax mapping, revalidation and reclassification of business establishments in the city in July.
City Treasurer Ofelia Oliva said that it would take two months to train CTO personnel to implement the project.
The CTO is planning to make barangays Mabolo, Apas, Kasambagan, Banilad and Mabolo as pilot areas for the tax mapping project.
“ Dili man gud samok dihang mga lugara” Oliva said.
Oliva set the date for July after Vice Mayor Joy Augustus Young warned the CTO that it would realign the P25 million budget for the tax mapping project to other projects if it wouldn’t be implemented this year.
“ If they will not use it, then we might as well realign it to other projects” Young said.
Oliva said they are now starting to train the CTO personnel to do the tax mapping, revalidation, and reclassification.
“ His(Young) wish is our command” Oliva said.
Revalidation and reclassification would confirm if the properties registered with the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) are used for their stated purpose or need to be reclassified. Tax mapping would tell the comprehensive location of the taxable establishments.
The budget will be spent on digital equipment and additional vehicles. Correspondent Fatrick R. Tabada
