An advisory from the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) showed that three Cathay Pacific flights — two Manila-Hong Kong flights and one Hong Kong-Manila flight — were canceled on Monday.
Philippine Airlines’ roundtrip flights between Manila and Hong Kong totaling six flights were also cancelled.
Four flights of PAL Express from Manila to Basco, Batanes and back were also canceled as the province continued to reel from the effects of Typhoon “Odette.”
Flooding spawned by monsoon rains meanwhile prompted the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to accommodate throughout the rest of the week passport applicants who failed to appear for their appointments due to inclement weather.
DFA’s consular offices in Metro Manila remained open on Monday, despite the rains and flooding.
“We advise those who fail to come for their appointment today may go to DFA offices in Metro Manila any day this week, starting tomorrow, Tuesday, until Friday, Sept. 27,” the DFA said.
Those who missed their Monday appointments may proceed to DFA consular offices on these days and present proof of their September 23 schedule, the DFA said.
