DFA issues advisory on passport processing

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) advised those who have passport appointments for the day in Manila but could not come due to the inclement weather  to return any time within the week.

“All those who have appointments in getting their passport today may come back at the Manila office any time during the week up to Friday,” DFA said in a statement.

“They will only need to show their proof of appointment for this day,” it said.
The DFA said that the Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) will be open for those who wish to push through with their appointments.

Many parts of the country have been experiencing non-stop rains since Saturday causing classes to be suspended in several areas.

Tropical storm “Pabuk,” which is heading to Japan, was causing the enhanced Southwest Monsoon to bring rains to the country.

The state run weather bureau has raised the orange rainfall warning alert early Monday expecting moderate to heavy rains.
