SALESMAN ROBBED

A SALESMAN was robbed by a man who posed as a customer in barangay Arpili, Balamban town, western Cebu, shortly before noon last Monday.

Bebot Candia, 26, said he lost P30,000 in the robbery.

Candia, salesman of JJO Enterprises, told police that he was talking to a customer who suddenly drew a gun and held him up.

2 ARMED MEN FALL

POLICE arrested two armed men in a saturation drive in barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town, northern Cebu, on Thursday night.

Police said Jerry Bugtai, a resident in the barangay, and Gomerciano Alplicador of sitio Villagonzalo, barangay Tejero, Cebu City, both yielded .38 revolvers.

A grenade was also allegedly found in Alplicado’s possession, said police.

Aplicador, however, denied that he was carrying deadly weapons when they were arrested.

Senior Insp. Mark Gifter Sucalit, member of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), said they went to the barangay for a saturation drive when they chanced upon the two men carrying the deadly weapons.

Sucalit said Aplicador is a member of a robbery group that was one of three groups suspected of being responsible for the robbery of Phoenix gasoline station.

Security guard Rolly Boca was killed during the incident.

In an interview, Aplicador said he was a friend of Ron-Ron Go who was shot dead by SPO1 Adonis Dumpit a few years ago.

He admitted that he was involved in robberies but had stopped already.
