MANILA, Philippines – Akbayan Representative Walden Bello on Tuesday criticized the Department of Foreign Affairs for coming up with a list showing the involvement only of staff in a “sex for flight” scheme in the Middle East and called for an expanded investigation.

In a press conference, Bello said he was not satisfied with the actions taken by the DFA.

“In our view (the allegations) are fairly serious. Action of a more significant sort should be taken,” said Bello who received the DFA document identifying 13 people allegedly involved in the scandal, two of who were department staff.

“The investigation should be expanded to other officials,” Bello said.

Eight officials identified in the document have yet to be investigated by the DFA.
