Fil-Am with character

While many high school  students  hied off to the beach for spring break, Fil-Am Christine Farolan  of Lisle, Illinois, joined a mission that traveled to the Virginia and Appalachian Mountain region in the United States to help build homes  for the poor.

Christine, 18, is the daughter of migrant Filipino doctors and the  granddaughter of columnist Ramon J. Farolan.

She and other members of  Teens with Character received the town’s 2012 Community Spirit Award .

She will enter  Northwestern University this fall.  (From Neighbors of Lisle)
