Japanese drowns off Bohol island

MANILA, Philippine—A Japanese national drowned while swimming in waters off an island in Bohol Wednesday, police said.

Philippine National Police spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said 25-year-old Fumihiro Tsukahara drowned while swimming in the waters off Hitape Island in Bohol around 11:55 a.m.

The victim was rushed to the Mactan Doctors Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival, Cruz said.

Tsukahara was billeted at the Pacific Cebu Resort in Suba Basbas, Lapu-Lapu City.—Karen Boncocan
