MANILA, Philippines — The police on Monday arrested a Dutch national for indiscriminately firing his gun in Pasig City.
Chief Inspector Oscar Boyles, head of the Pasig City investigation unit, identified the suspect as Farichad Rahied Hasnoe.
Hasnoe works as a human resource analyst at Logica (Philippines), Inc. based in McKinley Hill, Taguig City.
According to the police, a concerned citizen made a call to authorities about a person firing a gun on Canley Road in Barangay (village) Ugong, around 10 a.m.
“When our police operatives arrived at the scene, he was standing…and armed with two handguns. Fortunately, we were able to make him surrender,” Boyles said, adding there were still bullets inside the firearms when they were retrieved.
The police said apart from the .45 caliber colt and .357 caliber magnum seized from the suspect, one .45 caliber colt spent shell, and three .357 magnum shells were found in the scene.
The suspect was brought to the local police headquarters, where investigators are trying to extract information from him.
“We are still investigating the incident to determine what the suspect was doing in the area and why he fired his guns indiscriminately,” Boyles said, adding that Hasnoe was under the influence of alcohol.
Boyles said criminal charges would be filed against the Dutch national at the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.
