Durano Kaliwat global reunion

The Durano Kaliwat group in the United States and the Durano clan of the Philippines is holding a “global reunion” on May 25-26  in Danao City.

The two-day affair starts on Saturday, May 25, with a city tour of Danao City and winds down at the Durano Eco Farm and Resort in Barangay Corte, Carmen, Cebu. The following day,  the activities start with  registration at 8 a.m. followed by a mass at 9:30 a.m. at the Danao Civic Center. There will be day-long activities bringing together  the Durano families from around the Philippines and abroad.

The reunion was first started by the Durano Kaliwat group in California and Oregon in the summer of 1988, with subsequent reunions in various locations: Oregon, Las Vegas, Washington and other places in the United States. The tradition expanded with the holding of the first Durano reunion in Danao City in 2005, 2008, and this year, 2013.
