MANILA, Philippines – The Thai national who went missing after Mayon Volcano exploded on Tuesday was found alive, an official of the Office of Civil Defense in Bicol said Wednesday.

Boonchai Jattuporngong had broken his right arm and was suffering from burns but in “stable condition”, said Raffy Alejandro. He was found at 3:45 p.m. half a kilometer away from the crater and would take about “eight hours to take him down”, Alejandro added.

He will be taken to the Bicol Regional and Training and Teaching Hospital for treatment, Alejandro said.
