Cambodian tourist drowns in Ifugao falls
BANAUE, Ifugao – A Cambodian student drowned in Tapia Falls near the Batad rice terraces here on Sunday, a police official said.
Senior Superintendent. Angelito Casimiro, Ifugao police director, said a search for Kim Lin, 21, who was studying in South Korea, was launched by the police and local guides when he was declared missing at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Casimiro said the body was found at about 5 p.m.
He said local guides last saw Kim swimming alone in the falls when a thunderstorm broke out.
Casimiro said the guides reported that groups of foreigners, who were hiking at the Batad rice terraces on Sunday, went to the falls. He, however, could not say if Kim had companions or went hiking alone.
