San Francisco – Republican and Democrat supporters of bringing fiber optic technology and jobs to San Francisco held a victory dinner at Patio Filipino to celebrate the votes of 6 San Francisco Supervisors that approved a permit for AT&T to upgrade its network infrastructure in The City.
A five-point statement in support of AT&T’s fiber optic project was hand delivered to eleven supervisors. FilAmVoters praised AT&T’s record of providing more innovative product offerings, better value pricing and ATT’s commitment that a minimum of 33% of the new jobs they create through this network upgrade will be filled with local San Franciscans.
West Bay’s Rudy Asercion, San Francisco chair of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations, Jose Pecho, chair of the Northern California Region, vice chair Lorna Dietz and Ben Menor, chair of NaFFAA’s Santa Clara chapter met personally with the Supervisors. Al Perez, SF Entertainment Commissioner and President of Filipino American Arts Exposition was accompanied by Marily Mondejar, President of Filipina Womens Network.
Supervisors Carmen Chu – D4, Malia Cohen – D10, Sean Elsbernd – D7, Mark Farrell – D2 Scott Wiener – D8 and David Campos – D9 voted to bring faster, more affordable broadband options and another cable choice to San Francisco.
“San Franciscans and half a million Filipino Bay Area consumers will have the choice of affordable broadband options and another cable choice,” Sean Elsbernd said.
