More Sabah horror stories surface, says CHR exec
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines— More stories about the alleged brutality of the Malaysian police have surfaced despite a denial by the Malaysian government of a Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) story detailing how Filipinos were being treated in Sabah.
Lawyer Laisa Alamia, director of the Commission on Human Rights in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, told the PDI on Tuesday that the stories horrified and affected her emotionally.
She said her office was preparing a report based on the accounts of Filipinos who fled Sabah so that the national government could start a probe into the reported abuses.
