Kiram’s close kin nabbed in Malaysia–report
DIGOS CITY, Philippines – Malaysian police authorities arrested a close kin of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III, a Sabah-based radio station said, quoting Sabah Police Commissioner Hamza Taib on Tuesday.
It was not clear, however, how close the relationship between Jamalul and his arrested kin was as Hamza would not give additional details, the radio station, whose broadcast was monitored here, said.
Since Ops Daulat (sovereignty) was launched to curb local support to the Sulu gunmen in Sabah, Malaysian security forces had been hunting down a younger brother of Jamalul’s and a cousin – whose names were not provided.
