Misuari denies involvement in Sabah crisis

03:14 PM March 05, 2013

MANILA, Philippines – Former Moro National Liberation Front leader Nur Misuari on Tuesday denied involvement in the standoff in Sabah between Malaysian security forces and elements of the so-called ‘royal army’ of the Sulu sultanate.

In a press conference in Taguig City, Misuari said he was upset by speculations about his involvement in the north Borneo crisis.

“For anyone to speculate that I had anything to do with this is a kind of madness and is very irresponsible,” he said.

Misuari also denied financing the Sulu gunmen in Sabah, stressing: “That’s not my way of doing things.”
