Binay meets Sultan Kiram for peaceful resolution

MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Jejomar Binay has met with Sultan Jamalul Kiram III to appeal for a peaceful resolution to a two-weeklong standoff  in Sabah.

Binay is also Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers’ Concerns.

“I confirm meeting with Sultan Kiram. He explained to me their position and I listened to him,” Binay said in a statement on Monday.

“I then reiterated my position of the Philippine government and renewed my appeal for  sobriety. I emphasized that the parties should exert all effort to arrive at a peaceful resolution,” the Vice President  added.
