Aussie CEO of water tech firm in Clark found dead

CLARK FREEPORT—A top executive of an Australian water technology company here was found dead in his house in this free port on Monday, police said.

The body of Paul Brian Conlon, 50, chief executive officer of ICE International Technologies, was found by his maid hanging from the wooden stairway of his house at Regency Park Townhouse at past noon.

The maid told police that upon arriving at Conlon’s house, she rang the doorbell several times but got no response. She then decided to use her key to open the door and was shocked to see the body of her Australian employer, with a rope tied to his neck.

Conlon’s live-in partner, Lyka Martin, 27, told police that she left the Australian in the apartment at 8:30 a.m. on Monday. At around 10:18 a.m., she said she received a text message from Conlon, saying he loves her.

Martin said Conlon did not tell her about any serious problems.

Investigators said they found a “computerized farewell note.” They did not disclose the content of the note.

They said initial investigation by police showed there was no indication of foul play. Jun Malig, Inquirer Central Luzon
