MANILA, Philippines—A Chinese national was arrested Friday afternoon in Quezon City for allegedly peddling 100 grams of shabu.
Dison “Huang” Kua, 39, was collared in front of the McDonald’s branch at the corner of Roces Avenue and Tomas Morato Street by operatives of the Quezon City Police District’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Unit.
The DAID unit’s head, Senior Inspector Roberto Razon, said the Chinese national, a resident of Ongpin, Manila, was found with a medium-sized ziplock plastic bag containing 100 grams of shabu.
Kua was arrested in a buy-bust operation at 4 p.m. Friday, during which poseur were to buy P400,000 worth of shabu. Razon said the suspect was arrested during the exchange.
The DAID learned about Kua from a tipster, who helped set up a meeting with the suspect.
The suspect is now detained at the DAID cell and may face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Razon added that they have yet to determine if Kua is also a member of the Binondo Drug Group, three of whose members have been arrested in Quezon City since September last year.
