MANILA, Philippines – Malaysian authorities prevented Aman Futures Group head Manuel Amalilio from leaving Malaysia, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Nonnatus Rojas told reporters Friday.
“For unknown reasons, pinigil sya ng Malaysian police. Lahat ng papers, lahat ng magpapatunay na sya ay Pilipino dala ng mga NBI officers natin,” Rojas said.
Rojas said Amalilio was turned over to the NBI.
“Magbo-board na lang but he [Amalilio] was not allowed to board the plane by the Malaysian police,” Rojas said.
They were supposed to take the 6:10 p.m. Cebu Pacific flight back to Manila.
The NBI officers who were supposed to fetch Amalilio “were forced to fly back.”
“Paplanuhin namin ang next move. Hindi pa namin masabi kung kelan siya [Amalilio] makakabalik,” Rojas said.
