2 Frenchmen in search of a good time end up in jail

They were looking for a good time but they ended up in jail instead.

Two French nationals who identified themselves as Vincent Tirado, 33 and Sylvain Jouard, 38, were detained by the police after they were caught drinking beer under a traffic light at the intersection of Kalayaan Avenue and Burgos Street in Makati City.

According to Antonio Gonzaga, a barangay (village) tanod (watchman),  he and a fellow watchman were on patrol on Kalayaan Avenue when they chanced upon the two Frenchmen drinking at the intersection.

Gonzales said he accosted the two men and told them that what they were doing was prohibited
by a city ordinance.

But instead of listening, Jouard continued to drink and swore at them, Gonzales added, prompting him to call for help from policemen.

PO2 Edgar Basila, one of the  policemen who responded, said that the two foreigners also swore at them and resisted when they tried to get them to ride in the police car so that they could be taken to the police precinct.

Tirado, meanwhile, said that he and Jouard just wanted to drink some more after leaving a nearby bar. He claimed that they were later approached by the watchmen who he accused of “framing” them. He also said that it was just Jouard who was holding a beer bottle.

The police, meanwhile, called the French embassy to confirm the identities of the two men who face charges of violating a city ordinance, resisting arrest, slander and disrespect for persons in authority.
