The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco dispatched a seven-person team to Seattle, Washington from 9 to 11 November 2012, to offer consular services to kababayans there.

The team, composed of Vice Consul Reichel Quiñones, Ms. Zenaida Alonzo, Mr. Rene Cornista, Ms. Anna Maria Garcia, Mr. Michael Angeles, Ms. Linda Castillo, and Mr. Ramon Lopez, extended consular services to over 600 people, processing 420 passport applications, 154 notarial documents, and 131 applications for reacquisition of Philippine citizenship.

Kababayans from as far as Utah came to Seattle to avail themselves of consular services from the team, expressing their appreciation for the outreach as it drastically reduced the time and cost of obtaining consular services from the main consular office in San Francisco.

Consul General Marciano A. Paynor, Jr., thanked the Filipino Community of Seattle (FCS) for their all-out support of the Consulate-on-Wheels outreach, which visits Seattle four times a year to extend consular services to Filipinos in the area.

“As always, the excellent arrangements made by the Filipino Community in Seattle have contributed greatly to the efficiency and effectiveness of our consular teams,” Consul General Paynor declared. “Through our partnership with them, we have been able to extend the reach of our consular services to kababayans who have neither the time nor the financial capacity to fly down to San Francisco to visit the Consulate.”
