Zumba Fitness with Melody, in cooperation with GMA TV’s Power ng Pinoy and co-sponsored by IAWP is currently hosting several Zumbathon Charity Events in California. This fundraising event will benefit the NephroCardioHema Ward Patients of the National Children’s Hospital (NCH) in Quezon City, Philippines.
Melody Aure, EPR from the Oakland Primary Call Center, IAWP East Bay Chapter member and a Certified Zumba Instructor started this fundraiser to help the children in the Philippines suffering from various diseases and disorder such as Hemophilia, Thalassemia, Leukemia, etc. Per current data from NCH, there are approximately 37 children of various ages in the cancer ward. Majority of these children requires long term treatment depending on their health condition. They cannot afford to maintain their needs such as medicine, blood, financial and medical assistance, chemotherapy drugs, milk, vitamins, food, diapers, etc. Therefore, in most cases they rely on donations.
The Zumbathon Charity Event will help raise money to donate to the cancer ward patients. Melody will be teaching a special 2-hour zumba class and
proceeds from the ticket sales and sponsorships will be donated.
The first Zumbathon event in the Bay Area is this coming Saturday, November 17th at 10am-12pm. This will be held at the Fort McKinley Restaurant, 101 Brentwood Drive, South San Francisco. Tickets at $15 may be purchased in advance via Paypal through melody.zumbafitness@gmail.com. Tickets at $20 are available at the door.
As a bonus, attendees will get a free skin consultation with leading dermatologists Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields. Donations are also accepted for getting skin analysis and all proceeds will go to the same beneficiary mentioned above.
