MANILA, Philippines – Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) Secretary General Renato Reyes on Monday sided with Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago in saying that the Visiting Forces Agreement must go.

The issue cropped up following an investigation launched by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) on a US Navy contractor which allegedly dumped toxic waste in Philippine waters.

The senator has earlier suggested that the country terminate the VFA following reports on SBMA’s investigation on Glenn Defense Marine Asia.
