Ill OFW in Saudi wants to go home
A 47-year-old undocumented overseas Filipino worker in Saudi Arabia, who lost her eyesight after suffering a stroke, is seeking government help to come home.
“I hope they can help me go home, even if I die there, just so long as it’s in the Philippines,” Virgina Gabiling, 47, of Negros Occidental, said.
Migrante-Middle East coordinator John Leonard Monterona said Gabiling sought assistance at the Philippine consulate in Jeddah but received a scolding instead.
Sought for reaction, Department of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Raul Hernandez told the Inquirer, “Let me relay this to our consul general in Jeddah for verification and appropriate action.” Tina G. Santos
