MANILA, Philippines–President Aquino has appointed new ambassadors to Pakistan, Iran, Bahrain and Myanmar, Malacañang announced Friday.
Domingo Lucenario was appointed the country’s new ambassador to Pakistan, with concurrent jurisdiction over Afghanistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, said Undersecretary Abigail Valte, deputy presidential spokesperson.
Ricardo Endaya would be posted as ambassador to Iran, and would have concurrent jurisdiction over Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, Valte said.
Bahrain will have a new Philippine ambassador in Sahid Glang, and Myanmar in Alex Chua.
Malacañang has submitted their appointments to the Commission on Appointments for confirmation.
The President also appointed Ma. Lourdes Rebueno, Bienvenido Bautista, Ma. Lourdes Baua and Aurora Ma. Timbol to the board of the Philippine International Trading Corp. Pharma Inc.
They will sit in the board from July 1 this year to June 30, 2013.
Mr. Aquino also appointed Rommel Abesamis to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources as assistant secretary for foreign-assisted and special projects.
