PH envoy to China returns home–DFA
MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Ailing Philippine Ambassador to China Sonia Brady returned home, a month after suffering a stroke in Beijing, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Saturday morning.
The 71-year-old envoy was flown home Friday night but details of her arrival have yet to be released.
“Ambassador Sonia Brady arrived in Manila from Beijing last night. She needs privacy and a lot of rest. Let’s pray for her speedy and full recovery,” said DFA spokesman Assistant Secretary Raul Hernandez announced through Twitter.
He did not immediately reply when asked of further details about Brady’s homecoming.
Brady suffered a stroke and was rushed to a hospital in Beijing on August 22.
