MANILA, Philippines — The United States Embassy has warned its citizens in the Philippines of protest actions expected to be held by different groups in remembrance of the 40th anniversary of the Martial Law declaration.
In a security message to citizens posted on its website, the Embassy also reminded citizens to exercise vigilance in their travels around the country, citing recent attacks on US posts around the world following the release of an anti-Islam video purportedly produced in the US mainland.
“The demonstrations and/or marches may occur at various locations in Metro Manila, including the vicinity of the US Embassy. As global reactions continue to certain anti-Islam videos and to violent attacks on US Missions worldwide, the US Embassy urges US citizens to exercise extra vigilance at all times,” said the Embassy.
