In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced Thursday that Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario received the donation from Chargé d’ Affaires Thanis Na Songkhla of the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila during a turnover ceremony at the Department of Foreign Affairs on the same day.
It noted the donation would be forwarded to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
“Secretary del Rosario thanked the Royal Thai Government and people of Thailand for the generous and heartfelt donation. He said Thailand’s assistance will go a long way towards helping the flood victims recover from the calamity,” it said.
It noted that present at the ceremony were Second Secretary Orawee Supawatin of the Thai Embassy, Executive Director Antonio Morales of the Office of the Undersecretary for Special and Ocean Concerns (OUSOC), Director Maria Anna Lilia De Vera of the Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs, and Special Assistant Jabbar Adiong of OUSOC.
