There was no Filipino casualty in the latest mass shooting incident in the United States, in which seven people were killed in a Sikh temple in Wisconsin state over the weekend, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Wednesday.

Assistant Secretary Raul Hernandez, the DFA spokesperson, said there was no Filipino among the victims of Army veteran Wade Michael Page who opened fire at worshippers in Oak Creek, a city just outside Milwaukee.

Six people died and four others were injured in the latest violence in the US that occurred just two weeks after 24-year-old James Holmes shot at moviegoers inside a theater in Aurora, Colorado, killing 12 and injuring 59 others, including Filipino-American Ryan Lumba.

Page became the seventh casualty when he was shot dead by responding policemen at the scene. Tarra Quismundo
