US Embassy to remain closed Thursday
MANILA, Philippines – The US Embassy and its affiliated offices would remain closed Thursday.
In a text message to Inquirer.net, Tina Malone, US Embassy spokesperson said the decision was made out of concern for the safety and security of the employees and the public.
“The Government of the Philippines has raised the alert level to red for Metro Manila, and many streets remain flooded,” she added in the text message.
Malone said the public should refer to the webiste manila.usembassy.gov for updates on consular and other public services of the Embassy.
The US Embassy had been closed for since Tuesday due to flooding in Metro Manila.
