US Embassy reopens
MANILA, Philippines—The United States Embassy reopened its offices and consular services on Thursday, a day after a storm surge spawned by Typhoon “Gener” affected its compound and flooded a stretch of Roxas Boulevard.
In an update posted on its website, the US embassy said it opened at 10 a.m. Thursday, resuming work at its Chancery compound and at the Consular Services office.
All visa appointments on Thursday were moved three hours later than scheduled, while appointments canceled on August 1 “can be rearranged” through the consular services’ call center, the Embassy said.
The Embassy will, meanwhile, take care of resetting appointments of American citizens postponed on August 1 and 2.
“We urge all clients to check the Embassy website before traveling to the compound, for appointment information and updates,” the Embassy said in its update.
