PH consulate general wins bowling tournament among diplomats

SAN FRANCISCO, California – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco (SF PCG) has finally succeeded in winning the championship in the recently concluded 4th Annual Young Diplomats Club Bowling Tournament held on July 19 at the Presidio Bowling Center.

In previous years, SF PCG has consistently won 3rd place in the tournament. This year, the PCG team scored a total of 857 points placed first, followed by the Consulate General of Japan and the Office of Foreign Missions of the US.

The Philippine team was composed of Deputy Consul General Alfonso Ver (Team Captain), Col. Lyndon Cubos (Police Liaison Officer), Ronilo Ferrer (Records Officer), Erwin Gret (Consular Assistant), Cristina Yap (Finance Officer), Medel Cantoria (Consular Assistant), Hedwig Yap (HRD and Administrative Officer, Philippine Center), Alberto Peña Jr. (Police Liaison Staff), Genevieve Ferrer (Leasing and Administrative Staff, Philippine Center) and Dianne Sarmago (Consular Assistant).

Ronilo Ferrer hit a total of six strikes and bowled a total of 200 points earning himself the individual award for the player with the highest score in the evening.

The other participants in the event were representatives from 19 Consulates General located in San Francisco including China, Russia, Brazil, United Kingdom, Spain and Australia, among others.
